Highlights of 7 Nights 8 days Golden Chariot Luxury Train Tour
One can check in at Hotel Taj West End, when arriving in the city of Bengaluru (Bangalore). A high tea is organized for the guests’ boarding the Pride of the South itinerary. Guests will then be taken to enjoy a cultural show at the Chitrakala Parishad. Alternatively, they can check in at Our Native Village for an eco-vacation. Whichever the guests choose, they will be required to report at the Yeshwanthpur Railway Station by 8 p.m. or 2000 hours when the Pride of the South journey begins. After a traditional welcome by the staff members of the train, guests will be taken to their cabins and the train will soon start moving out of Bangalore. Dinner and overnight stay would be on the train.
Enjoy the breakfast served on board the train before a visit to the wildlife environment and jungles of Kabini/Bandipur. By 1300 hours, guests would arrive in Kabini and post-lunch will be at a lodge in the jungle, guests would head straight towards Bandipur National Park.
Overnight stay and dinner will be arranged for the guests in the jungle resort.
On the morning of the third day, travelers will set their sights on Mysore, the next stop on their journey. After enjoying a delicious breakfast, guests will embark from the train and commence their voyage to Mysore. Along the way, there will be a pitstop for lunch. The journey will take them through picturesque paddy fields, allowing them to interact with the friendly locals, and, most importantly, immerse themselves in the timeless natural beauty of the region—an experience that will leave an indelible mark on their senses.
Guests will arrive in Mysore by afternoon and immediately set off for sightseeing across the city. The attractions of Brindavan Gardens and Srirangapatna are the locations they will visit on this day.
Guests conclude the day by visiting the Lalitha Mahal Palace where they can savor a sumptuous dinner and a cultural performance.
By 2200 hours guests will return to the train for overnight stay and travel to the next destination, Hassan.
On the 4th day, guests aboard the Pride of the South itinerary will head towards Hassan, most noted for its religious significance. Shravanbelagola is the first destination that they will head to. Guests will return to the train and proceed towards Halebid and Belur. Return to the Golden Chariot by 1915 hours and prepare to leave for the next destination, Hospet.
At 06:00 hours, the journey will take you to Hospet, the gateway to the medieval marvels of Hampi. Here, you'll have the opportunity to explore the Virupaksha Temple, the Elephants’ Stables, and browse the local crafts bazaar. Guests will return to the train in time for a delightful lunch awaiting them. Later, around 15:00 hours, you'll disembark again to discover the remaining treasures of Hampi, including the Hazara Rama Temple and the Royal Enclosure. As the day turns to night, you won't want to miss a visit to the Vittala Temple, where you can savor an unforgettable and enchanting view under the stars. Arrive in the train by 2000 hours for dinner and overnight stay.
Early next morning by 0500 hours, the train will be on its way out of Hospet towards Badami. Breakfast will be served onboard the train and by 0900 hours and guests will arrive in the town of Badami. Guests should leave the train and proceed towards the popular tourist attractions including the Badami Caves and Pattadakal and return to the Golden Chariot by 1300 hours. Post-lunch guests leave for Goa.
Guests can enjoy the rest of the 6th day exploring the luxury facilities of the train. Guests will be served dinner onboard the train before it finally reaches Goa, after midnight.
Guests can begin the sightseeing trip of Goa early morning by leaving the train at 1000 hours and start their trail by visiting the churches and proceeding towards the Old Portuguese house- Sola Souto Maior. Enjoy the artistic beauty of the house with tea and cookies. A sumptuous Goan lunch will be served. The afternoon can be enjoyed by indulging in leisure activities in the hotel. Guests can also opt for getting a relaxing Ayurvedic session in the hotel.
